What is Earth day you ask?

Well, I will try and explain it to you a little bit more.

It is just like it sounds, A day where we give back to this great planet we live on called EARTH.

What can you do to help? It is as easy as this. Plant a tree, recycle whenever you can, whatever you can do to help out the environment. April 22nd each and every year marks this holiday.

According to  earthday.org, the movement started in 1970 to teach people about pollution and what it was doing to the planet.

Now, I wasn't around in the 1970's but pollution was something people were not familiar with. The high powered, gas guzzling cars did not help much. But they were the cars of the time. The Earth Day movement was to make people aware of pollution and putting the environment on the front lines.

The idea for Earth Day actually came from a senator from Wisconsin, close to home right. On April 22nd, 1970, tens of millions of people took a stand to demonstrate a healthy environment. You can visit earthday.org for the full story on how Earth Day came to be.

Remember to mark your calendar for the year 2020, on April 22nd, as it marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.
