Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Some area roads remain closed as a result of the weekend blizzard that hit SE Minnesota.
Among them Highway 63 between one mile south of Zumbro Falls to Highway 61 in Lake City; Highway 43 between Mabel and Rushford; Highway 250 between Lanesboro and three miles north of Whalan; Highway 30 between Chatfield and Rushford and Highway 105 between Lyle and Austin.
MnDOT says I-90 is now open between Stewartville and Albert Lea and
I-35 between Owatonna and Albert Lea has also re-opened.
Although most roads and streets in the Rochester area have been plowed, driving conditions are still poor due to snow and ice - and high snow piles on corners. Motorists are advised to allow for extra time and watch out for snow plows - and narrow streets.
Some area school districts are opening late this morning because of the poor driving conditions.
