The incident happened last August in Byron.

The criminal complaint says the incident began when 30-year-old Dylan Kaiser was unable to drive his vehicle because it had an ignition interlock device installed and he had been drinking.

Kaiser asked the family member for the key to her car but she refused because he was intoxicated. He became upset and choked her but she still refused to give him the key. She fled from the home twice but Kaiser caught her and choked her both times and forced her to return to the house. He finally took the key and drove off. He was caught a short while later. A breath test showed Kaiser had a blood alcohol level of .1.

He has been sentenced to 2 years in prison for a felony domestic assault conviction.

Records show Kaiser was arrested for DWI four times between 2012 and 2016. He was given a 41-month prison sentence for the 2016 conviction.
