Crackdown on Drunk Drivers This Weekend
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota State Patrol and local law enforcement agencies throughout the state plan to have extra officers on the road tonight and through the weekend for a crackdown on drunk driving.
The enhanced enforcement campaign was scheduled to coincide with Saint Patrick’s Day, which is among the busiest times of the year for law officers making DUI arrests. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says statistics show that during the past six years, five people died on St. Patrick’s Day because of the actions of a drunk motorist and 1,000 motorists were arrested on drug driving charges.
