Country Music History October 15

Johnny Cash tended to break a lot of records throughout his career.  October 15, 1969, he set a new record by winning five CMA awards - Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist, Vocal Group with June Carter, Album of the Year for "San Quentin", and Single for "A Boy Named Sue".

Happy birthday to Little Big Town singer, Kimberly Schlapman, born in Georgia in 1969.

In 1988, "Streets of Bakersfield" sung by Dwight Yoakam and Buck Owens is #1 on the Billboard Country Singles chart.   And in 2010, "Revolution" album by Miranda Lambert goes platinum.
