Happy Thanksgiving Eve!  Thanksgiving Day parades and football take focus in today's country music history.

I bet you didn't know this.  In 1967, Jack Greene was the very first country singer to appear in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  It was about time they included a country star!  In the 2000 Macy's parade, Rascal Flatts sane "Prayin' For Daylight" and Kenny Chesney sane "Me and You".  Also in the parade riding on a Jell-O float was Jo Dee Messina.  During the halftime show of a Thankgiving Day football game in 2006, Carrie Underwood sang "Before He Cheats".  Dallas Cowboys beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 38-10.

And in 1992 Destiny Hope Cyrus was born in Nashville.  Her famous dad?  Billy Ray Cyrus of course.  Under the stage name Miley Cyrus, she broke into the entertainment scene on the Disney show "Hannah Montana" and sang with her dad on a 2007 country hit "Ready, Set, Don't Go".
