Happy Wednesday and happy birthday to singer k. d. lang who was born November 2, 1961 in Consort, Alberta, Canada.  k.d. had a few huge country hits including "Constant Craving" and her remake of "Crying".

Roy Acuff ran for governor of Tennessee in 1948 but lost to his opponent, Gordon Browning, by a margin of 2-1.

In 1968, Conway Twitty had his first #1 hit on the Billboard country singles chart with "Next In Line".

And in 2005, Big Kenny Alphin (Big and Rich) and his wife, Christiev, welcomed their son Lincoln William Holiday Alphin.
