Singer Barbara Fairchild was born November 12, 1950 in Lafe, Arkansas.  Barbara recorded her first record at the young age of 15 years.  In 1972, she recorded her biggest hit "Teddy Bear Song", a rather heartbreaking love song.

In 2003, George Strait was honored as a recipient of the National of Arts presented by President George W. Bush and the National Endowment of the Arts.  The ceremony was held at the White House.

And in 2004, Sugarland made its Grand Ole Opry debut, singing "Baby Girl".
