Happy birthday to singer/songwriter Phil Vassar, born May 28, 1962 in Lynchburg, Virginia.  In addition to being a great singer, he wrote many hits for others; his portfolio includes "Right On The Money", "Bye Bye", "Little Red Rodeo" and "I'm Alright".

In 1967, songstress Barbara Mandrell married Ken Dudney in California.

Brad Paisley made his Grand Ole Opry debut in 1999.

#1 on the Billboard country singles chart in 1994 was Tim McGraw and "Don't Take the Girl".  In 2005, it was Keith Urban and "Making Memories of Us".
