Happy Friday everyone!  I hope you have a lot of fun things planned for your weekend!

The first People's Choice Awards were held March 4, 1975 in Los Angeles.  Singer Mac Davis was honored with the Favorite Male Musical Performer, while Olivia Newton-John received the Favorite Female Musical Performer award.

Starring Sissy Spacek as Loretta Lynn, "Coal Miner's Daughter" premiered in Nashville in 1980.  Country greats Minnie Pearl and Roy Acuff also appeared in the film.

Looking at the Billboard country singles chart, in 2006 we find the #1 song to be "When I Get Where I'm Going" by Brad Paisley with guest appearance by Dolly Parton.  A huge Waylon/Willie hit, "Mammas, Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys" is #1 way back in 1978.
