Country Music History March 15

March 15th is the Ides of March.  It's also the birthdate of Country Music Hall of Fame member, Carl Smith, who was born in 1927 in Tennessee.  Throughout his career, Carl had an amazing more than 30 hits including "Hey Joe!", probably his most famous.

In 1975, the #1 single on the Billboard country chart was "Before The Next Teardrop Falls" by Freddy Fender.  And in 2014, it was "Bottoms Up" by Brantley Gilbert.

Malibu, California was the setting in 2003 for the marriage of Kimberly Williams and Brad Paisley.
