Way back when in 1948, country music stars first appeared on national TV.  Kitty Wells, Eddy Arnold and others taped a show at Constitution Hall in Washington, DC. The show was broadcast to five major cities in the U.S.

During a thunderstorm in Brentwood, Tennessee in 1964, Jim Reeves and musician Dean Manuel died in a plane crash.  Rescue workers searched for three days before they discovered the plane wreckage.
