Make A Splash To Keep Your Cool

With the heat and humidity, everyone is seeking ways to cool down.  If I weren't so afraid of water, I'd be searching for the nearest swimming pool.  For those who aren't chicken, like me, here's a run down of pools in our area.  Get out your swim suit, Coppertone, and nose plugs and take the plunge!

Leroy Community Pool  Located at Leroy-Ostrander School in Leroy, call 440-0674.  Open swim hours 1-5 p.m. and 7-8:30 p.m.  Hours for aerobics and lap swim.  Available for party rentals.  Daily open swim rate adults $4.00, students $3.00.

Spring Grove Family Swim Center   600 Maple Drive, Spring Grove.  Call 498-SWIM (7946).  Open swim hours 1-6 p.m.  Lap swim and aerobic swim hours available.  Party rentals and concessions.  Free open swim Friday 7-9 p.m.  Daily rate $4.00; seniors age 62 and over free.

Stewartville Pool  204 Fourth Street Southwest, Stewartville.  Open swim 1-4 p.m. and 6:30 -8 p.m.  Family swim 5-6:30 p.m.  Party rentals, water aerobics.  Zero depth area and tot slide.

Preston City Pool  Located on the South Hill area of Preston.  Open swim 1-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m.   Baby pool and adult "big" pool.  Daily swim rate $4.00.  Park with playground equipment and picnic areas.
