The end of another month.  Before we move on to August, let's check today's Country Music History.

On a show taped at Washington, D.C.'s Constitution Hall in 1948, country music stars appeared on television for the first time.  The show was broadcast in five cities and featured Kitty Wells, Eddy Arnold and Johnny and Jack.

The man himself, Zac Brown, was born July 31, 1978 in Atlanta, Georgia.  Their debut single "Chicken Fried"  will probably go down in history being considered their signature song.

On a sad note, in 1964 Jim Reeves and his pianist Dean Manuel died in a plane crash during a thunderstorm near Brentwood, Tennessee.  Search teams scoured the area for three days before discovering the wreckage.
