Do you have a favorite Martina McBride song?  I really like "Valentine" and "Broken Wing".  Today is Martina's birthday.  She was born July 29, 1966 in Medicine Lodge, Kansas.  Not surprisingly, she was named Country Music Association's Female Vocalist of the Year four times!

Very talented singer/songwriter James Otto was born in 1973 in Fort Lewis, Washington.  A member of the Muzik Mafia, James had a hit in 2008 with "Just Got Started Lovin' You".  His writing talents can be heard on a host of hits including "In Color" by Jamey Johnson.

The #1 Billboard country single in 1989 was Reba McEntire's remake of the Everly Brothers "Cathy's Clown".

In 2006, seventeen former members of the Negro League were inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.  A former Negro league player himself, Charley Pride sang the Canadian and American national anthems before the ceremony.  As a side note, if you have never visited the Baseball Hall of Fame, you should; it's a remarkable place.
