Saturday greetings!  Singing "Love Will Turn You Around", Kenny Rogers made his movie debut in 1982 in "Six Pack".

In 1985, The Oak Ridge Boys sang the national anthem before the All-Star Game  at Minneapolis' Hubert Humphrey Metrodome.  National League won the game 6-1.

Peeking at the Billboard country singles chart, the #1 song in 1977 was "It Was Almost Like A Song" by Ronnie Milsap.  Alabama held the #1 position in 1983 with "The Closer You Get".
