Country Music History January 6

Lester Flatt's partner, Earl Scruggs, was born January 6, 1924 in Shelby, North Carolina. You probably know Flatt and Scruggs best from their theme song to "The Beverly Hillbillies" television show.

Checking the Billboard country singles charts, in 1958 we find a fantastic song "Great Balls of Fire" by Jerry Lee Lewis.  Don Williams and "Tulsa Time" are #1 in 1979.  "She's Everything" by Brad Paisley holds the #1 position in 2007.

Mark Miller and Lisa Knight are married in 1990.  Mark is the lead singer of Sawyer Brown, while Knight, a cosmetician, is the sister of Christopher Knight of "The Brady Bunch" fame.
