Grand Ole Opry member, Patty Loveless, was born January 4, 1957 in Kentucky.

"Strawberry Wine" singer, Deana Carter, was also born January 4 in 1966 in Nashville.

Prior to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena in 2006, LeAnn Rimes sang the national anthem.   Big and Rich performed during a pre-game tailgate party.  The Texas Longhorns beat USA Trojans 41-38.

And in 1953, more than twenty-thousand mourners flocked to Hank Williams funeral in Montgomery, Alabama.  Williams died in the back seat of a vehicle on route to a performance on January 1.
