Another week under our belt and can you believe it - January is about over.  Wasn't it just Christmas?
With guest stars, Bobbie Gentry, The Smothers Brothers and John Hartford, "The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour" had it first showing on CBS TV January 29, 1969.
"Wide Open Spaces" by the Dixie Chicks receives quadruple-platinum album status in 1999; while in 1988, "Always and Forever" by Randy Travis earns double-platinum album status in 1988.
In 1996, Garth Brooks is named "Favorite Artist of the Year" during the American Music Awards.  Brooks refused to accept the award saying he "cannot agree with this" and backstage states that he felt the award should have gone to Hootie and The Blowfish.
