Country Music History January 23

Do you realize January is almost over?  That means spring really isn't that far away!  Let's celebrate that fact by saying happy birthday to Josh Thompson, born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1978.  In 2010, Josh had a major hit with "Beer on the Table".

Harley Allen was born in 1956 in Ohio.  Allen penned such hits as "Baby" for Blake Shelton and "Awful, Beautiful Life" for Darryl Worley.

"Big" Kenny Alphin of Big and Rich and Christiev Carothers were married in Deadwood, South Dakota in 2005.

Country music stars shine once again at football games.  In 2011 as the Steelers took on the New York Jets, the national anthem was sung by Martina McBride.  The halftime show spotlighted Hank Williams, Jr. and Joe Nichols.  Final score:  Steelers win 24-19.
