Country Music History January 21

Happy Thursday and happy birthday to Mac Davis who was born January 21, 1942 in Lubbock, Texas.  Mac recorded one of my favorite songs "Baby, Don't Get Hooked On Me".

In 1987, Dwight Yoakam received his first gold album for "Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc."

On the Billboard country singles chart in 2006, Carrie Underwood was in the #1 position with "Jesus, Take The Wheel".  While way back in 1950, it was Red Foley with "Chattanooga Shoe Shine Boy".
