February 25 marks the birth date of two country music performers.  Thompson Square member, Shawna McIlwain was born in 1978 in Laurel, Mississippi.  With her husband, Keifer Thompson, Thompson Square has proven to be a very talented duo recording "If I Didn't Have You" and their breakthrough hit, "Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not".

Country Music Hall of Fame member, Faron Young, was born in 1932 in Louisiana.  Faron has a list of hits as long as your arm including "Riverboat" and perhaps his best known song, "Hello Walls".  What a remarkable talent.

"He Stopped Loving Her Today" by George Jones earned the Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance, Male in 1981.  Well deserved award.

Digital downloads.  Who would have thought!  In 2005 Tim McGraw became the first country singer to receive a platinum status for digital downloads for "Over And Over", his duo with singer Nelly.  I know most people got pretty sick of the song as it was played over and over, but I still like it.
