Country Music History December 30

Can you believe another year is almost gone?  Before we say goodbye to 2015, let's delve into a bit more country music history.

December 30 is the birthdate of:
singer Suzy Bogguss, born in Illinois in 1956.
"Gentle On My Mind" songwriter, John Hartford, born in New York in 1937.
Grand Ole Opry member, Sketer Davis, born in Dry Ridge, Kentucky in 1931.

As part of the USO tour, Drew Carey, Wayne Newton and Neal McCoy entertained our troops in Afghanistan in 2001.

Brenda Lee's home in Nashville was destroyed by a fire in 1962.  Brenda's pet poodle perished in the fire.  Her clothing valued at more than twenty thousand dollars was destroyed.
