Another Friday and weekend is looking glorious.  Cooler weather on the horizon which I love.

In 1944, Edward Garvin Futch was born in Lafayette, Louisiana.  Stage name, Eddy Raven.  Raven had several hits from 1981-1990 including "I Got Mexico".
The beautiful songstress, Lee Ann Womack was born in 1966 in Jacksonville, Texas.  I absolutely love Womack's "I Hope You Dance", which was named Song and Single of the Year in 2000 by the CMA.
Also born on August 19, the year 1969, "She Won't Be Lonely Long" singer Clay Walker in Beaumont, Texas.

Peeking at the Billboard country singles chart, the #1 tune in 1950 was Hank Snow and "I'm Moving On"; it held that position for a whopping 21 weeks.  In 1978, it was Crystal Gayle and "Talking In Your Sleep".
And finally, in 2014 Sam Hunt joined the Grand Ole Opry singing "Take Your Time".
