Country Music History April 19

Good day, country music fans!  This seems unbelievable, but it's true.  Seven years, yes seven years!, after "Strait Country", George Strait's debut album was released, it went gold in 1988.

In 1978, "Stardust" by Willie Nelson was released.  This is a great album with Nelson singing old, old classics like "On The Sunnyside Of The Street", the title song "Stardust" and "Don't Get Around Much Anymore".  Give it a listen when you have time.

In 1969, the #1 song on the Billboard country singles chart is Glen Campbell and "Galveston".  In 1980, that spot was held by Miss Crystal Gayle and "It's Like We Never Said Goodbye".
