Hang in there - the weekend is just a day away!  Here's some country music trivia to chat about around the water cooler today.

In 1969 on today's date at Ryman Auditorium, Johnny Cash taped the first of his ABC weekly shows, "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash", leading off with "Folsom Prison Blues".

In 1999, the Nashville Songwriter Achievement Award for songwriter/artist of the year went to Shania Twain, the first woman to be given the honor.

A new star started shining brightly on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  In 2010, Alan Jackson is honored with his star.

What proved to be a huge hit, "Pontoon" by Little Big Town was released to radio by Capitol in 2012.
