On April 1st, Costco instituted a new policy that allowed members to only bring one guest into their stores with them during each visit. The discount warehouse store has now lifted that restriction, no longer limiting the number of people that can shop with a cardholder. Costco also announced that their food-courts are reopening with a limited menu but will only offer takeout at this time.

Customers will still be required to wear a mask before entering the store. Costco's CEO, Craig Jelinek, said: "We believe this is the right thing to do under the current circumstances. Although some may disagree with this policy or question its effectiveness, we’re choosing to err on the side of safety in our shopping environments. Costco has continued to operate during this crisis as an essential business in all of our communities, and our employees are on the front lines. As part of a community, we believe this simple act of safety and courtesy is one that Costco members and employees can undertake together."
