Chatfield Man Pleads Guilty to Ramming Rochester Police Cars
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Chatfield man has pleaded guilty to a wild police chase in Rochester.
A trial had been scheduled to begin Monday in the case against 30-year-old Scott Tester.
Under a plea deal, Tester has pleaded guilty to one count of 1st-degree assault against a police officer. Five other charges were dismissed as part of the deal and he is scheduled to be sentenced in January.
Police say he put two squad cars out of commission after ramming them with a stolen pickup truck. He led officers on a chase through a residential neighborhood and was apprehended after crashing near Century High School.
Tester has also pleaded guilty to stealing a vehicle that was idling at a Rochester convenience store in November.
