Here's one you don't see every day: a massive blood spill closed an off-ramp to I-494 up in Bloomington late last week.
Wait, WHAT?!? You read that right: a blood spill closed an off-ramp on a busy Twin Cities interstate on Friday afternoon. It happened up in Bloomington, on the off-ramp to from I-494 to Nicollet Avenue.
So, if you're like me, you're wondering... how did all this blood end up on the road? Well, the Bloomington Fire Department explained what happened in a post on their Twitter page. They said that blood leaking from a tanker truck had spilled on the ramp leading from 494 to Nicollet Avenue, and that the ramp would be closed while they cleaned things up.
Okay, that clears part of the story up but the bigger question I have is, why is a tanker truck driving around Minnesota filled with blood?!? Did you know that was a thing?!? I have to say, I did not. At least not until this incident happened, that is.
The Bloomington Fire Department didn't offer much in the way of an explanation, other than to say that the blood-filled tanker truck was coming from an animal rendering company. Where it was headed-- and why-- are both still mysteries, although one comment on the Fire Department's Twitter page noted it was likely headed to a plant to be used in the production of fertilizer.
And, to be honest, that's really more than I care to know about that process, so I'll just let that explanation stand on its own. Just reading about-- and seeing the creepy pictures-- about a blood spill shutting down a freeway off-ramp is certainly something you don't see every day here in Minnesota.
It's almost as rare as a UFO sighting, though at least we know WHY blood spilled on the road. Some of THESE UFO sightings, however, don't have much of an explanation at all. Keep scrolling to check them out!
