Big Plays Lead Caledonia Past Rochester Lourdes
The Caledonia Warriors were able to make it 59 straight victories after taking down the Rochester Lourdes Eagles 24-7 Friday night at the Rochester Regional Sports Stadium.
The Warriors kept the offense rolling in this one and it was a game through the air with the Noah King and Eli King connection. Noah found his brother, Eli, three different times to help build a lead against the Rochester Lourdes Eagles.
Noah connected with Eli for a 14-yard touchdown in the first quarter to open up a 6-0 lead, then Noah and Eli connected again in the 2nd quarter to make it 12-0.
The Eagles were not going away quietly, as Nolan Jurgenson connected with Colin Meade for a 34-yard touchdown with an amazing one-handed grab to cut the score to 12-7. Then, Eli King responded.
King took the ensuing kick-off 80 yards on an incredible return to the house to make the score 18-7. The Caledonia Warriors got one more score from King to King in the third quarter to ice the game at 24-7.
It was a matchup for the ages between two teams that have been powers in their sections and across the state, and this time it was the Warriors who took the win this time, moving to 5-0 on the season. The Eagles fell to 1-4.
