The Spring Grove Lions were able to score six runs int he second inning to lead the way to a 12-0 win over Mabel-Canton Tuesday evening in Mabel.

The Lions got on the board in the first inning when Alex Folz led the game off with a triple, then was driven in by an RBI single from Carter Bratland to make it 1-0 after one. The Cougars were able to threaten in the bottom half of the inning but couldn't push a run across.

The Lions came back with six runs in the second inning that was capped off with a 2-RBI double by Bratland. Nic Peterson, Caden Grinde, Folz, Noah Elton, Chandler Bergrud, Bratland, and Issac Griffin all scored in the inning.

The Lions added five more runs in the 5th, including a 2-RBI triple from Folz, his second triple of the game to help start the 5-run 5th.

The Cougars were able to get runners on first and second with one out in the bottom half of the inning to put pressure on the Lions again after a lead-off walk to Cayden Tollefsrud and then Jack Arneson singled. The Cougars were unable to push a run across after Bergrud were able to strand the Cougar runners for the 12-0 win in five innings.

Spring Grove moved to 8-4 on the season, while Mabel-Canton fell to 1-10.

Bratland led the way for Spring Grove going 2-for-3 with 3 RBI and a run scored, while Folz went 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI. Jordan Arenson went 2-for-2 with a double to lead Mabel-Canton.
