Hayward Township, MN (KROC-AM News) - An Austin man was injured in a crash with a MnDOT snowplow Friday morning.

The Minnesota State Patrol reports that 59-year-old James Schafer was traveling west on I-90 when the vehicle he was driving struck the rear of a snowplow that was actively plowing snow. The incident occurred near the Hayward rest area in Freeborn County just after 10 am.

Schafer was transported to the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in Albert Lea with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the snowplow was identified as 30-year-old Casey Freden of Albert Lea. He was not injured.
