Rochester International Airport has some big news regarding an additional airline servicing our area. In a Facebook post, RST has announced that United Airlines will be joining Delta and American in providing air service to and from Rochester. According to the post, United will begin offering non-stop service to and from Chicago on June 8.

In a statement on the airport's website, RST Executive Director John Reed said, "We are incredibly excited to welcome United Airlines to Rochester. The addition of this service will provide 150 new departing seats per day, which is a capacity increase of 35% for our community."

United is scheduled to have three inbound flights and three outbound flights flying daily through the airport, back and forth to Chicago's O'Hare airport. From its Chicago O'Hare hub, flyers will then have the opportunity to travel to any number of destinations.

Departure times for United flights are scheduled to take place daily at 5:35 a.m, 11:30 a.m. and 3:03 p.m. Comments from Rochester-based travelers expressed hope that the addition of another airline would increase competition and lower prices on flights originating in Rochester.
