Ambulance Crash on Ice Covered Central MN Highway
Foreston, MN (KROC-AM News) - The road surface was described as covered by slush and ice when an ambulance was involved in a crash this morning in central Minnesota.
The State Patrol says the ambulance was involved in the non-emergency transport of a patient when the driver lost control on the slippery section of Highway 23 near the town of Foreston, which is about 25 miles south of Mille Lacs Lake. The crash report indicates the ambulance went into a spin, left the road, and rolled onto its side.
The ambulance driver, 43-year-old Jeremy Black of Mora, was transported to a St. Cloud hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The patient and another passenger were not hurt.
The State Patrol is reporting alcohol was involved in another crash involving a central Minnesota man that occurred nearly Austin early today. 22-year-old Isaac Dammen of St. Stephen was driving east on I-90 about 5 miles east of Austin when his car crashed into the median around 2 AM. Dammen was brought to St. Marys Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
