12-year-old Boy Shot by His Uncle in Minnesota Hunting Accident (Update)
Update: The Cass County Sheriff's Office says the boy has died from his injury.
Motley, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in northern Minnesota say a 12-year-old boy was shot by his uncle in an apparent hunting accident over the weekend.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says the shooting occurred around 8 a.m. Sunday on public hunting land near Motley. A news release says deputies rendered aid, brought the boy from St. Paul out of the woods where EMS personnel continued life-saving measures.
The boy was then airlifted to a hospital in the Twin Cities with what’s being described as a life-threatening gunshot wound. The news release identifies the boy’s uncle as a 47-year-old from St. Paul.
Authorities say the initial investigation indicates the shooting was the result of a hunting accident, however the case has not been closed.
