Hayfield, MN (KROC-AM News) - A young boy was killed in an ATV crash yesterday in Mower County.

A news release says deputies were called to a rural property in an area about 5 miles southwest of Hayfield just after 4:30 PM after receiving a report of an ATV crash involving a juvenile. When they arrived, people at the scene were performing CPR on the crash victim, but the 11-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff Steve Sandvik says the child was pinned under the ATV in a waterway for an undetermined amount of time. His name has not been released.

Besides the Mower County Deputies, The Minnesota State Patrol, Brownsdale Police, Blooming Prairie Ambulance, the Blooming Prairie Fire Department, and Mayo One responded to the scene of the tragedy.
