Remember that saying, even when it comes to car shows.

Got you attention yet, good. This weekend in Preston was Preston Trout Days. Downtown was the annual street rod and car show. Now if you know me, you know I am all about the classic cars. They have been in our family for years, so car shows are a real treat for me to walk around in.

Quite a few car shows feature a lot of brand new cars shined up and looking good. But you have to always remember how they all these car company's got their start. Old fast American Muscle. Seeing corvettes grow from 1953 to now. Mustangs gaining attention when they drove off the assembly line in 64'. And the Camaros, the late 60's into the 70's were the years.

But over the years, what have I noticed? Car company's are making their new muscle cars look like the originals. Hence the title, respect your elders. Preston's Car and Street rod show usually draws in a good crowd of older generation cars. Smelling the high octane gas, hearing that raw power, awesome.

So here are a few pictures from this years show. Have a look and see what you favorite is.
