Singer Jewel Kilcher was born May 23, 1974 in Payson, Utah.  She is known professionally simply as Jewel and has had several pop and cross-over country hits.

Born in 1958, Shelly West, daughter of Dottie West.

Looking at the Billboard chart for today, in 1981 Rosanne Cash is at the top seat with "Seven Year Ache", while in 2009 it was Sugarland and "It Happens".

Ferlin Husky was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2010.
