Lottery Jackpots on the Roll Again
Undated (KROC AM News) - Two months ago, lottery fever was spreading across the country as two multi-state games had jackpots that had grown to a combined $1.2-billion.
Neither game has produced a grand prize winner since then and the combined jackpots have grown to nearly $700-million.
The current Powerball jackpot is worth $385-million. The grand prize of the Mega Millions game has grown to $290-million. Both jackpots could grow before their upcoming drawings.
There’s some tragic news involving a previous big lottery winner from Minnesota.
The Star Tribune is reporting one of the 14 Minnesotans injured in a wreck in Florida this week was 49-year-old Paul White. He won a third of a $450-million Powerball drawing in 2013. The newspaper says he was seriously injured. His partner is the mother of the 18-year-old who was killed in the wreck.
