Donny's sister, Marie Osmond, was born October 13, 1959 in Ogden, Utah.  The pair hosted a TV show "Donny and Marie", had a couple pop/country hits together.  Marie had a solo hit with "Paper Roses" in 1973.  Marie can currently be seen on TV selling diet products and appearing now and then on QVC shopping channel.

"Black Coffee" singer, Lacy J. Dalton, was born in 1946 in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania.  And in 1969, songwriter Rhett Akins was born in Georgia.  Akins wrote such hits as Blake Shelton's "Honey Bee" and Jason Aldean's "When She Says Baby".

In 1975, John Denver won Entertainer of the Year Award at the CMA awards.  After announcing the winner, presenter Charlie Rich set the envelope on fire on stage.  Many stories surrounded the incident, with one explanation being that Rich was on pain pills for a broken foot that made him act the way he did.

And finally, Roy Rogers signed his first film contract with Republic Pictures.  He shot a small part in the movie "Wild Horse Rodeo".
