Country Music History October 12

Happy Wednesday, folks, and happy birthday to Dixie Chick Martie Maguire, born October 12, 1969 in York, Pennsylvania.

Songwriter Shane McAnally was born in 1974 in Mineral Wells, Texas. McAnally wrote such greats as "Merry Go Round", "American Kids" and "Downtown".

"Common Thread: Songs of the Eagles" was released in 1993 by Giant Records.  This is one of the best tribute albums I've ever heard.

And in 2012, Thomas Rhett married his sweetheart, Lauren Gregory.
