1971 "Rose Garden" by Lynn Anderson earned her only gold album of her career
1974 The Academy of Country Music awarded Charlie Rich with Top Male Vocalist, Single Record, Album of the Year and Song of the Year for "Behind Closed Doors"
1981 Just 15 days after he earned a gold single, "Drivin' My Life Away" earned Eddie Rabbitt his second gold single
And in 2006, Country Music Hall of Fame member Buck Owens died in his sleep at his Bakersfield home.
