Not two and a half minutes later, King found Burg again for a 39-yard score and a 13-0 lead. Ben McCabe was the next to score, running from a yard out before Alex Goergen caught a pass for 13 yards and a score to extend the lead to 40-0 at halftime. The Warriors defense forced 5 punts in the first half and Jordan Burg also picked off a pass in the first half shutout. The only time Caledonia did not score in the first half was when they drove to the Eagles 18 and turned it over on downs

The second half started out much the same as the first half, with the defense forcing an Eagles punt. Ben McCabe ran in the ball in from 4 yards out for the score to take it to a 47-0 lead. Eden Valley-Wakins then turned the ball over on downs, giving Caledonia a short field. The Warriors drove for seven plays, and capped off the drive with another Ben McCabe touchdowns run to put the lead out to 54-0 late in the third quarter.

This time the Eagles answered back with a Reese Jansen throw to Matt Schindler for 31 yards and a score to get the game to 54-6. Caledonia answered back with a 10-play drive of almost 6 minutes and a one-yard Alex Goergen touchdown run. Jack Bates took over as quarterback for the Eagles and threw a 55-yard TD pass to Ethan Moore to get the score to 61-12 and the score held.

The Caledonia Warriors are state champs for the second straight year! Some big plays were made all around, but the KFIL Subway Player of the Game for Caledonia was Owen King. The junior quarterback threw for 328 yards on 17-25 passing, threw no interceptions, and found receivers for 5 touchdown throws. Eden Valley-Watkins KFIL Subway Player of the Game was quarterback Reese Jansen. The Kingsley Mercantile Game Ball went to a senior who was all over the field and all over the stats. Alex Goergen scored one TD on the ground, one receiving, and had some big hits on Eagles throughout the game, including two tackles for loss, and he also broke up one pass.
