We have heard before that black bears have made the treck toward southeast Minnesota, and a local sheriff's department had a visitor themselves.

The Goodhue County Sheriff's Department had a black bear check out their facilities and one of their deputies was able to snap some pictures of their visitor and posted them on their Facebook page.

Thankfully, the black bear ran away rather quickly, and it didn't hang around the department long. According to the post, black bears are a little "skittish" and it ran away about as fast as it came in.

I know I would be very frightened to see a bear anywhere near I worked, and if one rolled by the radio station I would freak out just a little bit.

If you have seen a bear here in Southeast Minnesota, the DNR wants to know about it. Here is a link where you can get more information.
