Fairmont, MN (KROC-AM News) - A crash report issued by the State Patrol on a deadly traffic crash early Sunday in south-central Minnesota lists snow and ice, alcohol use, and not wearing a seatbelt as contributing factors in the tragedy.
The State Patrol says 26-year-old Myra Guzman of Fairmont suffered fatal injuries when she was ejected from a pickup truck after the vehicle when it rolled over several times after crashing shortly after midnight along a snow and ice covered highway just south of the town of Welcome in Martin County.
The driver of the pickup, Tyler Byers of Fairmont, was also ejected during the crash and was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Mazeppa, MN (KROC-AM News) - The road conditions were described as wet when a suburban Twin Cities man was hurt in a single-vehicle crash in Wabasha County early Sunday morning. The State Patrol says 52-year-old Michael Dorshak of Savage was driving a minivan that left a rural road just east of Mazeppa and crashed into a sign and the ditch around 4:45 a.m.
The State Patrol report indicates alcohol was a possible contributing factor in the crash.
