A Sweet Award for ‘Sweet Lew’

There is no doubt about it. It's not the high school basketball playoffs without hearing the voice of 'Sweet Lew' Flattum ringing throughout the Mayo Civic Center. I've gotten to know Lew quite well over the years. From voicing the Kingsland home football games, to the tournaments in Rochester, and even his work with Kuehn Motors in Spring Valley. Do you remember the 'Ole' ads for Ag Days/Wilder Fest?!?!  "Yagger Dagen!!".

Lew was recently awarded the 'Distinguished Service Award', given by the Region I Activities Directors Association. I received the same award all the way back in 2008. It truly is an honor, and Lew most certainly deserves it! He's a very compassionate person who is always a joy to be around, and one that truly cares about all those that he encounters.
