Country Music History February 25

Two birthdays to report today.  Faron Young was born today's date in 1932 in Shreveport, Louisiana.  Faron was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2000.

Shawna McIlwain was born in 1978 in Laurel, Mississippi.  After her marriage to Keifer Thompson, the couple became country duo, Thompson Square.  They had a huge hit in 2010 with "Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not".

"He Stopped Loving Her Today", what an amazing song, earned George Jones Best Country Vocal Performance, Male, Grammy in 1981.

And in 2005, "Over and Over" by Tim McGraw and Nelly received a platinum single for digital downloads, a certified one million downloads.  Tim was the first country artist to achieve that status.
