Zumbrota Woman Injured in Crash on I-35

Albert Lea, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Zumbrota woman was injured early today in a two-vehicle crash on I-35 near Albert Lea.

The State Patrol says 20-year-old Savanna Patrice Echols was driving a jeep north of the freeway when she collided with a northbound SUV around 1:30 AM. The crash occurred just south of the Highway 65 interchange where the road surface was snow and ice-covered at the time.

Echols was transported to the Mayo Clinic Health Care System Hospital in Albert Lea with what were described as non-life threatening injuries. The other driver was not hurt. The State Patrol says both were wearing seatbelts.
