Good news for anyone who needs to renew their Minnesota driver's license!  Due to Covid-19 and the extremely long lines at the DMV, you can now renew your license online if you don't have to change your name, address, signature or your card number.

According to the Olmsted County website, "to meet the high demand for driver’s license services across the state, Governor Tim Walz recently signed a bill into law which waives the photo and vision screening requirements for Minnesotans renewing or replacing their standard driver’s license or identification card through June 30, 2021."

If you are needing to renew your standard driver's license or your state ID, and you don't need to change your name, address, signature or your card number, you can now apply online here.

If you do need to change your name, address, signature or card number, you can make an appointment at the Government Center here.  They have advised that spots open at 7:45 am and are usually filled by 8 am.

If you are a new resident to Minnesota, you want a first time instruction permit, or a first time driver's license, you will need to visit the Minnesota State Exam Station at the River Center Plaza on North Broadway.
