Do you want fries with that? If you do, chances are you'll want those fries to be THIS specific kind of fries here in Minnesota.

At least's what yet another new survey has revealed, anyway. We LOVE our french fries, but here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, chances are if you ask for fries, you'll probably want those fries to be...WAFFLE FRIES. That's what a recent survey from Spruce revealed.

Just how did waffle fries become Minnesota's favorite? Well, as with everything these days, the answer was online. "We looked at Google Trends search results to analyze the popularity of 24 different fast-food chains’ fries and also looked into the search results around different types of fries, like curly, waffle or even chili cheese," the survey said. "We then looked at the data state by state and crunched some numbers to find out the most popular fast-food fries around the nation," it said.

And, apparently, we're searching for waffle fries the most here in Minnesota. Waffle fries also came out on top in Iowa, Nebraska, Utah, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina and Virgina. Over in my home state of Wisconsin, curly fries took the top spot.

Not to cast too much doubt on the survey and its results, but I noted that tater tots were also listed as an option, and were the most popular in Idaho, North Dakota, Alaska and Wyoming. And seeing our distinct fondness for Tater Tot Hotdish here in Minnesota, I'm a little surprised that tator tots weren't the most popular fries here too. (And, am I actually supposed to believe that curly fries beat cheese fries over in Wisconsin?!? Come on, man!)
